Doors for the Session are at 5:00pm with the taping starting promptly at 5:30pm. Doors for the house show are at 6:30pm and the show begins at 7:00pm. About Sam Weber

Sam Weber's storied exodus from his homeland of Canada to find new footing and opportunity in America resonates like a classic story of pain, loss, and rebirth. That narrative thread is woven throughout his new record, Get Free, offering a warm, intimate, and multidimensional portrait of the 28-year-old singer-songwriter. With this new collection of material, Weber reaches fresh emotional depths, commanding more expressive personal moments than ever before — at times within the margins of a single verse.

Sam Weber has already logged more miles as a gigging musician than most of his peers will in a lifetime, earning enviable accolades along the way (he was featured in Guitar Player a decade ago, by some accounts the youngest artist ever to grace those pages). He first picked up the guitar at age 12 to form a rock ’n’ roll band with his father and brother in the living room of their family home.

Sixteen years later, having collaborated with Grammy winners and with extensive international tours under his belt, the Canadian-born Los Angeleno goes forth with the same intention and mantra as when he began: “Music is an emotional conduit between people and allows us the opportunity to share moments of truth and unity. In an age where the ritual of music-making can be a solitary exercise, I want to live my life to remind everyone that playing music as a communal and spontaneous practice can be healing and powerful.”

In October 2019, Weber released what he now describes as his only real studio album, Everything Comes True. Though he had released a handful of compelling albums and EPs in the preceding decade, this one distinguished itself because the record was cut live-off-the-floor in the iconic B room at Hollywood’s Ocean Way Studios. From the circular shuffle of "It’s All Happening" to the soaring ramble of "Queen On The Money", Everything Comes True’s expansive range of grooves and emotions stands tall above Weber’s previous offerings. Featuring hallmark musicianship and personnel from the near and far reaches of popular music and the singer-songwriter's imagination, the sometimes nine-piece electric-roots orchestra conjure a brassy and joyful feast of sounds.

About Lynne Hanson

Too tough for folk and too blues-influenced for country, Lynne Hanson’s brand of porch music with a little red dirt can turn on a dime from a sunshine, blue sky ballad to a full on thunderstorm of gritty Americana swamp from one song to the next. Her hard living music has garnered her the nickname “Canada’s Queen of Americana.” And while her deep, bluesy croon has drawn comparisons to Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch, it’s the poetry of her lyrics that really sets her apart.

Hanson is known for her high energy, roots guitar driven live performances, whether playing solo or with her band the Good Intentions. She has an uncanny way of connecting with her audience with an authenticity that is as entertaining as it is disarming. Her sense of humour and spontaneity as a storyteller is likely honed from years of competing with eight older siblings for attention at the dinner table. And speaking of tables, don’t be surprised if she hops up on one at a concert to play unplugged for a song or two!

The prolific songwriter has released eight studio albums along with two books of poetry over her 16 year solo career. She’s toured extensively across North America, Europe and the UK, and appeared at leading international festivals including Take Root (Netherlands), Glasgow Americana (Scotland), Maverick Festival (UK), Kerrville Folk Festival (US), and Winnipeg Folk Festival (Canada). She has also toured as support for Grammy-nominated artists like Gretchen Peters, Steve Forbert and Albert Lee.

Lynne Hanson released her ninth album “Ice Cream In November” in April 2022.

“Somewhere in the heartlands, in a town called ‘Americana USA,’ nestles a particular variety of singer songwriter. Someone who views a melodic sensibility through the bottom of a whiskey glass. Canadian songstress Lynne Hanson could run for mayor of that town.” – Trevor Raggatt – R2 Magazine – 5 stars

Stone Cottage Studios Presents The Young Fables

Join us Friday, June 7th as we present an intimate, outdoor Artist Series Concert with the highly acclaimed, Nashville Artists The Young Fables right here in the gardens at Stone Cottage Studios. You are welcome to bring drinks, food, blankets and low back chairs. The Address for The Stone Cottage is 3091 7th St, Boulder, CO

About The Young Fables

The Young Fables (TYF) create music with classic storytelling weaved into Americana roots music with pop sensibilities. East Tennessee (Maryville) natives, Laurel Wright and Wes Lunsford are influenced by timeless treasures like Patsy Cline, Bonnie Raitt, Glen Campbell and Chet Atkins. The duo’s unique sound has resonated with audiences around the globe as live performances have become stages from which The Young Fables discuss themes and topics typically saved for the therapy couch. Strong advocates for mental health awareness, The Young Fables are focused on helping to erase the stigmas surrounding the topic. Recognizing the duo’s advocacy, the pair were honored with The Troy Gentry Compassion Award in 2021 for compassion, commitment, kindness and love.

The couple has dropped 3 full length albums Two, Old Songs, and Pages (the latter two collaborations with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Mitch Dane). Their sound - a whimsical, distinguishable classic country-meets-Americana pop blend - was praised by iconic artists and taste-makers alike, with nine-time GRAMMY® Award winning artist Sheryl Crow tweeting, “Laurel’s as good as any country singer out there!” Their releases opened the door for a Rolling Stone “10 Best Country and Americana Songs of the Week” nod, direct support for artists like Vince Gill, Amy Grant, and Rascal Flatts and an invitation from multi-platinum songstress Shania Twain to take part in the CBS showcase celebration Real Country. “Wes is a perfect partner for Laurel’s voice. I fell in love with these guys as a genuine, authentic talent and sound,” mused Twain, and Travis Tritt added, “Our industry needs (TYF) right now!”

In 2024 we see Wright and Lunsford releasing Short Stories, the band’s 4th studio effort, and their feature documentary 'The Fable of a Song’, winner of the 2021 Nashville Film Festival Audience Choice Award. “Every album that we have released has become sort of journal entry for us and Short Stories is the next chapter.” Wright reveals. “We feel fortunate to have a space to share our music and are so grateful that our story seems to be helping others with their healing. That’s a reward unlike any other.”

About TANASI

Tanasi’s world-inspired mountain music taps into the similarities of roots artists across the globe and helps craft it into a sound that has a way of seeping into those deep parts of your heart, bringing it home.  This collaboration of three celebrated Asheville, NC-area roots artists, features the tight sister harmonies of MerleFest-winning songwriter Anya Hinkle and Mary Lucey (Biscuit Burners, Uncle Earl) with the inimitable dobro musings of Billy Cardine, who after his collaboration with Edgar Meyer’s Porous Borders of music, Jerry Douglas said “I couldn’t have picked a better example of where the Dobro is now or what the possibilities are with the instrument.”  Members of the trio have toured the world over from Japan to India to Europe and across the US at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Rockygrass and Merlefest and on stages such as The Ryman Auditorium, The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall

About the Band Members

With vivid storytelling and arresting honesty Anya Hinkle’s music is steeped in the tones of folk and bluegrass and seasoned by travels the world over. No Depression says of her 2021 release Eden and Her Borderlands [Organic Records] “…one of roots music’s gems so far this year.” She “effortlessly delivers…” (Pop Matters) with "...vivid songwriting and transportive vocals…” (Folk Alley). Hinkle won the 2019 MerleFest Chris Austin Songwriting Competition and was runner-up in the 2022 International Acoustic Music Awards in 2022; she had a No.1 song and No. 2 album on Folk Radio charts in 2018. Her newest album, Oceania, releases on Red Parlor Records in 2024, produced by Kevin Moloney (U2, Sinéad O’Connor) and featuring legendary Irish guitarist John Doyle (Solas, Tim O’Brien, Joan Baez) and brilliant slide guitarist Billy Cardine.

Billy Cardine has been recognized as a slide guitar pioneer, taking the Dobro with him into unchartered genres. Dobro master Jerry Douglas calls him “an amazing Dobro player. He is fluent in everything that I do and everybody that has come before. I couldn’t pick a better example of where the Dobro is now or what the possibilities are with the instrument.”   Billy’s distinct voice on all things slide has lead him to collaborations with Led Zeppelin's, John Paul Jones, world renowned, Edgar Meyer in Porous Borders of Music, and alongside Jerry Douglas on Tut Taylor’s Tribute album, Southern Filibuster.  His album, Six String Swing, ushered the dobro into the world of Gypsy Jazz and his mentor Mike Auldridge said it best when describing the album, “The swing music Billy Cardine is tackling on the resophonic guitar on this project is some of my all time favorite music, and in his hands, the music itself takes on an all new meaning to me. It all sounds so natural to the resophonic guitar that one is almost forgiven for not realizing that this is pretty much impossible to pull off so convincingly. Billy is definitely a rising star in the resophonic world!” He has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, the Ryman Auditorium and major festivals, such as Bonnaroo, Merlefest and Rockygrass.  As an engineer and producer, his works have won national and international awards and recognition including Indie Acoustic Music Project’s Roots Album of the Year, Chicago Tribune’s Best Bluegrass records of the year and an Apple iPod Playlist Hot PickAs an internationally featured artist, he has toured in India, Japan, Europe and Canada. More info at https://billycardine.com/epk

Mary Lucey is a talented vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Her clear and soulful vocals are instantly recognizable. As a bass player, she held down the rhythm for the band she cofounded, The Biscuit Burners, as well as with the all female group, Uncle Earl.  Over the last several years, she has been showcasing clawhammer banjo as her new rhythmic muse with projects such as Lovers Leap and The Billy Sea. Recognized for her songwriting at Merlefest, Mary continues to draw people into her original songs with a lyrical style, haunting in its honesty.  She has played venues such as The Kennedy Center, Ryman Auditorium, Bonnaroo, Merlefest and Rockygrass.  Her music has been featured on BBC World tv's Destination Music and PBS's Roadtrip Nation, Mountain Stage and Woodsong’s Radio Hour.

The early years

Luke Bulla has been singing and playing music most of his life. Touring with and singing in his family band from age four, Luke took up the fiddle at seven.

Over the course of the next few years, he won the National Fiddle Contest (in Weiser, Idaho) six times in his respective age categories. His seventh win came in the Grand Champion division at age sixteen, making him the youngest to have earned the title at the time. Entering Nashville’s Grand Master Fiddle Championship at age ten, Luke distinguished himself by being the youngest person to have made the top ten.

In addition to violin, Luke plays guitar and mandolin, and sings and writes songs.

On to Nashville

In the spring of 1999, Luke moved to Nashville to establish himself as a full time musician. He spent his early years in Tennessee playing fiddle in Ricky Skaggs’ band, Kentucky Thunder, which earned him his first Grammy Award.

Stone Cottage Studios Presents Rachel Baiman

Join us Friday, February 23 for an Artist Session and indoor Stone Cottage show with acclaimed Nashville Artist, multi instrumentalist and singer songwriter Rachel Baiman. Raised in Chicago, Rachel made her way to Nashville at the age of 18 to pursue her music. With two solo records and session work with Kacey Musgraves and Molly Tuttle and others you are in for a treat! This will be a very special listening experience and we have 10 "Select Access" tickets available to be part of the Artist Session Taping in the studio prior to the House show. Doors for the Session are at 5:00pm with the taping starting promptly at 5:30pm. Doors for the house show are at 6:30pm and the show begins at 7:00pm. A tasty spread of appetizers and drinks will be available to all thanks to our sponsors Boulder Wine Merchant and The Bernardi Real Estate Group! Our address is 3091 7th St, Boulder, CO.

About Rachel Baimen

Baiman Finds Mutuality in American Pain on “Common Nation of Sorrow”

“When I was a kid, my dad was in this tiny fringe political group called Democratic Socialists of America” explains songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Baiman. “That was considered really extreme, and something I didn’t tell my friends about. Now my generation has had to wake up to the intensity of our own economic oppression. We sit around talking about how anyone affords to buy a house, and how we can get rich people to pay for our albums”, she laughs. Baiman finds hope in this shared experience as a mechanism for activism. On Common Nation of Sorrow, Baiman’s third LP, she tells stories of American capitalism, and the individual and communal devastation it manifests.

Raised in Chicago, Baiman made her way to Nashville at 18 with the dream of being a professional fiddle player and has since released two solo records and an EP, alongside session and side-person work with Kacey Musgraves, Kevin Morby, and Molly Tuttle among many others. As a songwriter, she has garnered a reputation for her specific brand of political and personal lyricism, which Vice’s Noisey described as ‘Flipping off Authority one note at a time”.

In contrast with her previous work, Baiman is the sole producer of Common Nation of Sorrow. After recording for twelve days in Nashville with Grammy-Award-winning engineer Sean Sullivan, Baiman traveled to Portland, OR, where she spent two weeks mixing the record with famed engineer and producer Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket/The Decemberists/First Aid Kit).

On “Common Nation of Sorrow”, Baiman has found a production style to match her straightforward writing. Baiman displays a certain self-awareness and comfort with the inability to be all things, while simultaneously pushing to new heights with her message, and delivering a heartbreaking, albeit beautiful, assessment of her country.

Stone Cottage Studios Presents an Evening with Connor Garvey

Join us Friday, Friday March 1st for a special indoor Stone Cottage show with acclaimed singer/songwriter Connor Garvey. We have 10 "Select Access" tickets available to be part of the Artist Session Taping in the studio prior to the House show. Doors for the Session are at 5:00pm with the taping starting promptly at 5:30pm. Doors for the house show are at 6:30pm and the show begins at 7:00pm. A tasty spread of appetizers and drinks will be available to all! Our address is 3091 7th St, Boulder, CO.

About Connor Garvy

Connor Garvey is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Portland, Maine, with the amiable presence of an entertainer, the lyrical depth of a poet, and the enchantment of a storyteller. Garvey leaves audiences uplifted and inspired through a positive message delivered in a way proves you can be optimistic and self-aware without being boring.

First time listeners often are drawn to Garvey’s engaging performance style, accomplished musicianship, and memorable melodies. But his lyrics project a depth and sincerity that allow the observant listener to find meaning beyond the catchy hook. “Connor isn’t afraid to tackle some heavy-duty subjects” writes Americana Highways. On his latest release, Another End of the Year, Garvey shows his maturity as a songwriter, addressing personal and universal subjects through a series of lyrical stories. This collection of songs reflects the wisdom gained from experiencing life.“The result is remarkably effective thanks to Garvey’s knack for writing lyrics that get to the core of some of our most vulnerable feelings... his most powerful record yet. There is a cohesiveness and maturity to these songs that clearly benefited from a slew of major life experiences that come with age.” -Glide Magazine“...simply top-tier material, a record that’s completely original and brimming with musical ideas and emotional depth far beyond his years...yet another example of a Maine artist deserving of a global profile.” - The Maine Edge

“This is quality song-craft from a richly experienced, acclaimed musician.” – Americana UK

Onstage, Garvey is driven by the shared, spontaneous moments that can only come from live performance. He thrives in the intimacy and connection best observed in the brief space between the last note of a song and the applause – when audience and artist alike share a moment of reflection of the common experience. This combination of songwriting and performance strength has earned Garvey numerous awards including being named winner of the Kerrville New Folk, Rocky Mountain Folks Fest, SolarFest, Wildflower Art and Music Festival and Maine Songwriters Association songwriting competitions, voted as Most Wanted artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, nominated for Best Male Performer in the New England Music Awards, and a top new singer songwriter by Sirius XM's The Coffeehouse. It has also put him on stage at many of the country’s most notable folk festivals and intimate venues headlining shows and supporting great acts such as Brett Dennen, Catie Curtis, Storyhill, John Gorka, Ellis Paul, David Wilcox, and more. Most importantly, his songs move people. They have and found their way into important life moments and experiences like marriages, funerals, cross country road-trips, and memorable nights out listening to live music.Outside the musical world, Garvey is a skilled group facilitator. Whether serving at an international peace camp for Israeli and Palestinian youths or leading a group of adult coworkers, he brings people together to find common experience and purpose. But like his music, he tackles these heavy subjects while infusing a strong sense of joy, playfulness and fun.

Catch Connor Garvey live or sit back and listen to his recordings in your own time and space. In the meantime, he will continue to find the adventures that create the songs.

About Ben Cosgrove

Ben Cosgrove is a traveling composer, pianist, and multi-instrumentalist from northern New England. He performs regularly all over the country, presenting a unique variety of original instrumental music that explores themes of landscape, geography, and environment while straddling a line between folk and classical music. “Like a sonic plein-air painter,” wrote the Boston Globe, “[Cosgrove] uses his piano as a paintbrush — and he’s made a name for himself doing it.” His “electric and exhilarating” solo piano performances are at once dazzling and intimate: music that has been described as “stunning” and “compelling and powerful,” — Red Line Roots has called him “stupidly talented” — all presented with “warmth, humor, honesty, and the easy familiarity of a troubadour.”

Throughout his career, the strongest forces guiding Ben’s composition and performances have been his deep and abiding interests in landscape, geography, place, and environment. For years, he has been fascinated and inspired by the different ways people understand and interact with the landscapes around them, and through songs with names like “Prairie Fire,” “The Machine in the Garden,” “Champlain,” “Kennebec,” “Volcano,” and others, he seeks to explore those relationships and reflect them in sound. “I don’t think of my pieces as rendering places in music,” he once remarked during an interview with Harvard Magazine, “but more just as a way of responding to places musically. Writing music just turns out to be a great way for me to process the world.”

Cosgrove’s new album Bearings, set to be released in fall of 2023, represents the latest chapter in a career that to date has included solo performances in 49 states (all but Delaware), as well as artist residencies and collaborations with Acadia, Isle Royale, Glacier, and Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Parks, White Mountain National Forest, the Schmidt Ocean Institute, the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, Chulengo Expeditions, the New England National Scenic Trail, and NASA. To write the new record, Cosgrove relied on a novel and improvisation-focused compositional style that aimed to reflect the real experience of learning topographical space through movement. “I’ve always been a bit obsessed with motion,” writes Cosgrove in the liner notes, “and I liked the idea of forcing myself to write a whole record on the move, leaving no opportunity to overthink the songs before they had a chance to breathe. And conceptually, there was something about having to find a song in the moment by moving around the piano — feeling out its contours like you might learn those of a landscape by walking across it — that felt important and true to the way I engage with the world in the rest of my life.” While this approach unifies the album, the landscapes and ideas that inspire its songs range from Hawaiian volcanoes to Kansas skies, and from Midwestern rail yards to the writings of landscape scholar J.B. Jackson.

As an acoustic trio, Salomé Songbird channels these influences into original songs inspired by mental health, religious trauma, and cartoons. Joy and Ariele formed Salomé Songbird in Miami in 2015. In preparing for a small coffee house performance they discovered that their voices and songwriting styles complemented each other perfectly. In 2022 they regrouped in Colorado, with the addition of Bryan on guitar. All accomplished musicians in their own right, the band members have performed around the world, sharing the stage with artists including Darol Anger, Nathaniel Rateliff, The Flobot, Kygo, Ben Folds, and Dave Liebman.

Stone Cottage Studios Presents A Live Artist Session Taping with Radio Ranch

Join us Thursday November 9th at 6:30pm as we present a special, live Artist Session Taping with Radio Ranch. There are 10 tickets available for this intimate Studio Session under the Stone Cottage lights! Come join us and feel, see and hear the beauty of our Sessions! This will be an extended, 60 min set of music following the band interview segment. The Address for The Stone Cottage is 3091 7th St, Boulder, CO

About Radio Ranch

"Where are y'all from?” Asked the old hatmaker to the couple that walked through his shop door one rainsoaked summer afternoon in Cody, Wyoming. They didn’t know what to say. Life had kept them traveling for so long that the meaning of the question had become almost arbitrary. “No matter. You look like you belong right here,” the man said. Radio Ranch was born on the road.

Rhett Henry Baxter and Camille Kelly hail from America’s heartland but have made homes of various locales in the west over the course of the last decade in pursuit of what they love.

Their alpinist aspirations brought them together but their similar interests in music and songwriting were immediately apparent. Inspired by the folk rock movement of the 60’s and traditional country music, they’ve long been in love with the freedom of wide open country and the people within it.  Eventually the road led them to Montana where they recorded their LP “Ten Sleep” with Bruce Springsteen’s long-time audio engineer Toby Scott.  Serendipity led them to their drummer, Johnny Wall, formerly of Squatcho.  His punk rock background and Bakersfield roots provide the perfect driving force behind Radio Ranch’s Cosmic American music. The group’s dynamic live shows combine straight-shooter storytelling with the eloquence of Americana, traditional country, and the spirit of rock n’ roll.

About Andy Mann and Eli West

-winning National Geographic photographer, Andy Mann, combines his passions for storytelling and songwriting alongside multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Eli West. Drawing on folk music traditions, the duo weave in a delightfully warped, witty sense of storytelling in pursuit of their ultimate goal: take the audience on an adventure.

About Eli West

It’s always illuminating to ask an artist how they understand music, but Eli West’s perspective is nothing short of ground-breaking. A trained designer, he sees music architecturally, visualizing his compositions spatially. It’s a highly unusual way to think about music. As both a noted arranger, songwriter, performer, and composer, West has been crafting a Northwest-centric roots music aesthetic through earlier collaborations with Cahalen Morrison and John Reischman, and recordings with Bill Frisell and Dori Freeman.

About Martin Gilmore

With a diverse and extensive repertoire, Martin Gilmore’s soulful voice navigates a wide range of sounds with traditional and original songs. His easy-going style explores the depths of folk music with authentic reproductions, creative reimaginations, and unique original songs.  His robust vocals, and impressive guitar work combine to bring color to new and old songs alike. Gilmore’s strong desire to let his authenticity blaze a trail leaves no doubt about his sincerity or artistry.

Martin Gilmore released his debut self-titled record in 2009 which was produced by Infamous Stringdusters bassist Travis Book. The record also featured members of FY5, Open Road, and Pete Wernick of Hot Rize. In 2017, Martin released his EP East-West also featuring Eslam Elabaty, which was recorded in Cairo, Egypt where Martin lived from 2015-2017. Martin’s 2021 release The Martin Gilmore Trio featured the talents of mandolinist Nick Amodeo and bassist  Ian Haegele, who play regularly with Martin.  The record also features Tim O’Brien, Courtney Hartman, and Mollie O’Brien. The Martin Gilmore trio have played all over the United States and Ireland, and were one of the official showcase groups at the International Bluegrass Music Associations World of Bluegrass conference in 2021.

About Emily Barnes

With a voice that cuts to the bone and songs that pull on the heart strings, Emily Barnes has the ability to turn any room into a listening room.  With a diverse four albums and many miles under her belt, Barnes is a seasoned singer-songwriter who continues to build a grassroots following from city to small town, one new believer at a time. Her most recent release, Rare Birds, thrust her onto the national stage including a trip to the highly coveted Kerrville Folk Festival. Now based in Colorado, Barnes writes vivid songs of empathy, love and perseverance over lush melodies.  There is a feeling one gets when witnessing something authentic and rare, and that aura permeates the room at an Emily Barnes show.

““Warren County” paints the listener quite a vivid picture. The song contains little more than some synth pads and an acoustic guitar, but the sonic space is wide and it cradles Barnes’ voice as though it were a stream flowing between two peaks. The soft percussion and vocal harmonies join in for the chorus and one cannot help but imagine the song playing as the opening credits roll across some Rocky Mountain film that has yet to be made, beckoning to the listener that there is “a world outside of Warren County.””

Up to Hear Music

“What I take away from this show about Barnes is that she is a dedicated singer- songwriter, with a beautiful voice, and an ability to take command of a room. Also, she said she’s not a piano player yet she played a few songs on piano with such ease and confidence. Not a piano player—really!?! Well, Emily Barnes, you have my attention now and I am listening.”

Just Music Thoughts

“Emily Barnes is more than just a musician; she’s a storyteller that sets the lives of her characters to music. Her sophomore release Let in the Light should be both required reading and listening for anyone who is feeling or has ever felt fractured by life.”

About STURTZ

Sturtz’s music stands out for its distinctive, soothing instrumental and vocal harmonies. The acoustic quartet – Andrew Sturtz [vocals, guitar], Jim Herlihy [banjo], Courtlyn Carpenter [cello], and Will Kuepper [bass] - falls somewhere at the intersection of folk and soul, with lead singer Andrew Sturtz’s melodic vocals soaring over the lower string instrumentals. Sturtz is based in Boulder, CO, and has toured across the U.S. opening for groups like the Eli Young Band, Trout Steak Revival, Lillie Mae, the Band of Heathens, and Smooth Hound Smith. NPR’s All Songs Considered described the band as “a reassuring breath of fresh air that pulls me back to simpler times” in their April 2020 blog. Sturtz released their debut album You’ve Done this Before in August 2021, and now they are hard at work touring on this album and writing songs for their next album. When they’re not playing music, you’ll probably find them milling flour, farming, laying in a creek, or eating native foliage.

Stone Cottage Studios Presents an Evening With The Pamela Machala Band With Special Opening Guest Christopher Morse

About Pamela Machala

Pamela Machala artfully turns a phrase and yet still manages to make us dance...her piano-rich gems are in the storyteller vein of Ben Folds and Sara Bareilles, yet they are distinctly hers.” - Colorado Daily

Colorado-based singer, songwriter, and pianist Pamela Machala (“MOCK-uh-luh”) writes "catchy, heartfelt, thought-provoking songs" (Westword) with influences ranging from jazz and soul to musical theater and folk. She was awarded the Grand Prize in the 2019 SongDoor International Songwriting Competition, was a 2021 Finalist in the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase, and has opened for icons including Lisa Loeb and Rachel Price. Her all-female band (featuring Adrienne Osborn on bass, JJ Jones on drums, Amanda Morin on guitar, and Kate Farmer on vocals) takes her sound to the next level, reminiscent of 70's favorites like Carole King and James Taylor.

About Christopher Morse

After a long run of shows across Colorado’s front range in 2021 and 2022, Christopher Morse released his new EP, Covering Old Scars, on February 17th. Blending elements of folk, country, and mellow indie/pop, Christopher Morse’s music has evolved into a rich soundscape that listeners can really sink their teeth into.
At the young age of 10, Morse became a literal choir boy after auditioning for the American Boychoir School (ABS). With ABS, he toured the country, sang with the New York Philharmonic, and performed at Carnegie Hall - all while taking classes on the tour bus. While on the road, he saw Colorado for the first time, but never expected to make the move out West.

After the boychoir, Morse discovered John Mayer’s Room For Squares, which led to him picking up a guitar for the first time. Before long he was writing songs to share with friends and family and started playing in local coffee shops. He gradually expanded his reach to playing in larger venues from Washington DC to New York City. During that time, Morse graced the stages of many legendary venues including The Tin Angel in Philadelphia and Rockwood Music Hall in NYC.Exploring themes of isolation and nostalgia, Christopher created the Escape EP in 2021, A long string of shows followed the release of Escape, including opening for Tony Lucca in May of 2022. Morse continues to connect with audiences across Colorado through his passionate and heartfelt performances. Keep an eye out for him in 2023 as he brings the songs from Covering Old Scars to life.

ABOUT stone cottage studios

Founded and launched in early 2018 in Boulder Colorado, the Stone Cottage Studios is a hybrid music venue and a music discovery space in support and promotion of local and visiting musicians. We are musicians, songwriters, audio engineers and filmmakers. We are passionate about music and the community and provide pro audio recording and cinematic video production in both our authentic, unique and inspirational live studio and in our intimate hybrid music venues. We help artists bring music to their fans and the world and music lovers with the discovery of new artists.

In addition to being a live music venue, we bring artists and fans together globally through High Definition Live Stream Concerts and also promote artists through our Studio Artist Sessions. These sessions are interview based and artists are able to tell their stories and connect with fans through conversation and their music. We help musicians with marketing and visibility by distributing the sessions and individual song performances across available media channels. It’s all about capturing musicians at their best and discovery across musical genres!

The original cottage was built in the early 1900’s by a local miner and stone mason. We rebuilt the studio in 2012 with Arts and Music in mind and the Stone Cottage Studios was born. The goal was to give rise to a unique, intimate and inspirational space that showcases musicians with high level audio recording and filming. Every aspect in the studio from the gear and the expertise was assembled to create the very best experience for everyone. With the growth of our Stone Cottage Team and our expansion into the hybrid live and live stream space, we are more excited than ever to brig our unique experience and intimate stages to the artists, fans and the music community— all in the celebration of the beauty that music adds to our lives.

Come join us!
